DIBBS AI is software that helps suppliers find and read DLA RFQs on DIBBS, where suppliers and manufacturers bid on DLA parts. It can match RFQs to your FSCs and NSNs, summarize the RFQ and answer questions about it. It can't submit quotes, guarantee awards or replace your check of the official RFQ.
What DIBBS is
DIBBS, the DLA Internet Bid Board System, is where suppliers and manufacturers bid on DLA parts. DLA posts requests for quotations (RFQs) for spare parts and supplies, usually by NSN, and suppliers enter their quotes on DIBBS before the due date. A busy supplier can face a long list of new RFQs, most of which don't fit the shop. That sorting work is where AI helps most.
What AI can do on DIBBS RFQs
- Find the RFQs that fit. AI can compare new RFQs with the FSCs and NSNs you supply, plus the rest of your profile, and put the likely fits first.
- Summarize the RFQ. A good summary pulls out what you need to decide: quantity, delivery days, packaging, first article testing, the AMSC code and whether drawings are available.
- Answer questions on the open RFQ. You can ask what a clause or code means in plain English while the RFQ is open in front of you.
What AI can't do
- Submit the quote. You enter and submit every quote on DIBBS yourself.
- Make you an approved source. AI can flag that an RFQ names approved sources, but only DLA's rules and your own documentation decide whether you qualify.
- Replace reading the RFQ. Amendments, drawings and referenced specifications can change the answer. The official RFQ governs.
- Promise an award. Price, past performance and DLA's evaluation decide awards, not software.
How to check an AI answer
Treat every AI answer as a pointer, not a ruling. Open the page or line it came from, confirm the number or clause, and look for amendments before you price. Our guide shows how to check an AI summary against the RFQ step by step. If you are comparing tools, see what to look for in DIBBS bid software.
How FedOpp does it
In FedOpp, DIBBS RFQs sit in one workspace alongside SAM.gov notices, DLA Urgent Need, the DLA no-bid list, prime contractor subcontract notices and SBIR/STTR award notices, all scored to your Match Profile. Each Pursue, Skip or More like this teaches it what you're after, so it surfaces more opportunities that fit. The AI RFQ reader and Ask CCO work on the open RFQ, and you still submit on DIBBS. Frequently asked questions
Is there AI for DIBBS?
Yes. AI tools can match DIBBS RFQs to your FSCs and NSNs, summarize an RFQ and answer questions about it. You still check the official RFQ and submit the quote on DIBBS yourself.
Can AI submit a DIBBS quote for me?
No. Quotes are submitted on DIBBS by the supplier. FedOpp does not bid or submit quotes.
